You Are Already What You Seek

Dear Beautiful People,

I am coming out of a 5 day spiritual retreat conducted by Chinmaya Mission. My heart overflows with gratitude for the lofty message that was taught and reinforced during these five days. I want to infect you all with the idea that you are already what you seek. All you need to do is to peel away the layers of lack and limitations you have accepted as true by stories taught and told and bought and sold!

Instead, know that:

You were born with potential.

You were born with goodness and trust.

You were born with ideals and dreams.

You were born with greatness.

You were born with wings.

You are not meant for crawling, so don't.

You have wings.

Learn to use them and fly.

Please read this poem again. And again. Reflect upon it all day. For many days.

Another way of looking at this is:

“Matter matters but your reality is not your reality.”

All it means is that while your physical reality matters, your current reality is not your ultimate reality.

Know that you can free yourself from perceived lack and limitations and learn to fly towards infinite possibilities. Following are some of the methods and a combination of these methods (dictated by your personal nature and tendencies) can get you moving towards becoming a master of your destiny. The methods are:

• Service to a Higher Cause (Karma Yoga)

• Devotion to a Higher Principle (Bhakti Yoga)

• Understanding the Highest Reality (Jnana Yoga)

Many of you want to explore your spiritual side but don’t think it is the right time yet. Please remind yourself that a journey of a thousand mile starts with the first step. Start today. Start where you are. Don’t wait for perfect conditions to spread your wings- there’s no such perfect time!
